Qatar’s Ministry of Awqaf Launches “Parent Follow-Up Day”
Initiative in Quran Learning Centers
The
Qatari Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has launched a pioneering
initiative titled “Parent Follow-Up Day”, aimed at strengthening integration
between families and Quran learning centers, and supporting the role of parents
in the educational process.
According
to the ministry’s statement issued on Sunday, the initiative designates the
first Sunday of every Gregorian month for parents to attend and follow up on
their children’s progress in Quranic centers across various parts of the
country. This aims to enhance constructive cooperation between home and center
to achieve educational and moral objectives.
The
ministry stressed that the direct presence of parents serves as support for
students, boosts their motivation, and contributes to improving the efficiency
of the educational process while enhancing communication between all parties
involved.
The
first visit under the initiative, held on August 3, saw the participation of
1,262 parents in 149 Quranic centers. Activities included one-on-one meetings
with teachers, guided tours of the centers, and the creation of WhatsApp groups
to follow up on memorization and revision.
Parents
praised the initiative, considering it a means to reinforce their children’s
commitment to Quran memorization circles and to help build a well-balanced
Quranic personality. Students also affirmed that their parents’ presence gives
them motivation and a sense of care, while center directors commended the
initiative for its positive impact on both students and teaching staff.
The
Ministry of Awqaf continues its efforts to support Quran learning centers for
boys and girls by developing educational plans, supervising teachers’
performance, and organizing Quranic activities, with the goal of graduating a
conscious generation that memorizes the Book of Allah, embodies its morals, and
contributes to building a society grounded in values, faith, and Islamic
identity.
