Serhou Guirassy, the striker for German club Borussia
Dortmund, drew attention during his summer vacation in his home country of
Guinea after appearing in a video fluently reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an
at a Qur’anic school in his hometown.
Beyond his well-known goal-scoring skills, the
29-year-old Guirassy demonstrates a deep faith and religious commitment, often
evident in his behavior—particularly after scoring goals.
Guirassy joined Borussia Dortmund in June 2024 for €18
million and has since scored 38 goals and provided 9 assists in 50 matches
across all competitions.
On the international level, the Guinean striker—who
previously played for clubs such as Stuttgart, Lille, Cologne, Auxerre, and
Rennes—has earned 22 caps and scored 9 goals.
