IUMS Secretary-General: “Gaza
Is Being Starved to Death Amid Disgraceful International Silence… and the
Violation of Qatar’s Sovereignty Is Rejected and Condemned”
The Secretary-General of the International
Union of Muslim Scholars, Dr. Ali Muhammad Al-Sallabi, condemned the blatant
marginalization of Gaza and its transformation into a “forgotten tragedy” in
the calculations of some regional and international powers. He affirmed that
“God’s reckoning does not overlook the oppressed,” warning that “those who
abandon Gaza will be subject to God’s unyielding justice and divine retribution.”
He noted that the current political scene
reflects the fragility of Arab elites, a loss of direction, and the
fragmentation of the collective civilizational project, stating:
“The ‘Al-Aqsa Flood’ events are
not over yet—they have swept away states, parties, and elites who lost their
humanity and failed to stand firm or speak the truth.”
Commenting on the Iranian missile attack on
the U.S. Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Dr. Al-Sallabi firmly rejected and
condemned this act, targeting a country that has always been at the forefront
of defending the causes of the Muslim Ummah—especially the Palestinian
cause—through robust media and political support in regional and international
forums.
He added"
:While
some capitals drown in silence, Qatar has stood firmly by the Palestinian
people, calling for de-escalation and the preservation of the region’s security
and the safety of its people.”
Dr. Al-Sallabi considered the targeting of
Qatar at this moment to be a clear manifestation of an attempt to punish those
who side with the oppressed and to deny the truth. He stressed that such
actions have cost Iran much of the popular and leadership support it once
enjoyed as a perceived voice of reason and justice.
He concluded his statement with a prayer for
the people of Gaza, saying:
“O Allah, Gaza has no hope except
in You. All expectations have failed—except in You. O Allah, relieve their
distress, heal their wounds. The calamity has dragged on, the hardship has
intensified, and the suffering has grown. Be with them, O Most Merciful of the
merciful.”
Dr. Al-Sallabi also pointed to the horrific
massacres committed by the occupation against civilians waiting for aid in
Gaza, describing them as a new chapter in the ongoing genocide against the
Palestinian people. He asked:
“What crime is worse than killing
the starving as they wait for a loaf of bread? What deeper moral failure exists
than the international complicity with this machinery of death?”
He stressed that targeting innocent people
in search of food is a stain on the conscience of the silent. He affirmed:
“These pure souls will not have
died in vain. Their blood will be recorded in the book of the oppressors and
the negligent. It will remain a curse upon all who abandoned Gaza, contributed
to its starvation, or justified its slaughter.”
He concluded:
“Gaza is no longer waiting for
statements of condemnation—it awaits heroes to stop this bloody flood and ring
the bell in the face of the aggressor. Those who forsake her will face the same
divine justice that befell those before them.”
Gaza Is Being
Exterminated
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist
occupation, backed by the United States, has been committing genocide in
Gaza—including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced
displacement—blatantly ignoring international appeals and rulings by the
International Court of Justice to halt the aggression.
This genocide has resulted in more than
187,000 martyrs and wounded, the vast majority of them children and women. In
addition, over 11,000 are missing, hundreds of thousands have been displaced,
and famine has claimed the lives of many, including children, amid widespread
destruction of infrastructure.
The occupation has imposed a suffocating
blockade on Gaza for 18 years, which has now led to the displacement of
approximately 1.5 million Palestinians out of 2.4 million due to the
destruction of their homes in this criminal war.
