📚 Istanbul Hosts the 10th Edition of the Arab Book Fair with
Participation from 300 Publishers Across 20 Countries
The 10th
edition of the Istanbul International Arab Book Fair kicked off in Istanbul
under the slogan “Arabic Endures”, featuring over 300 publishing houses from 20
countries and showcasing 150,000 book titles, reaffirming the city’s status as
a global cultural bridge connecting continents and peoples.
The
fair, running until August 17 at the Eurasia Hall of the Yeni Kapı Exhibition
Center, attracts a wide audience of Arab residents and visitors, alongside
Turks proficient in the Arabic language, as well as researchers and
intellectuals from Europe and Asia.
The
event enjoys official support from Arab ministries of culture, including
Algeria and Morocco, as well as major publishing houses, providing
opportunities for signing cooperation protocols and strategic partnerships
between Arab and Turkish publishers, and reinforcing Istanbul’s role as a key
player in the Arab book industry.
The
accompanying cultural program features more than 100 events, including
lectures, seminars, and literary and poetry evenings, with participation from
prominent scholars, writers, and poets from across the Arab world. This
transforms the fair into a cultural and intellectual beacon that goes beyond
mere buying and selling of books, proving that the Arabic language continues to
unite the world under the banner of thought and knowledge.
