More than 11,000 Students in
260 Centers across the Sultanate of Oman: Efforts to Promote Values and Quran
Memorization during Summer
The Department of Endowments and Religious
Affairs in South Al Batinah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman, has launched the
activities of the 2025 summer centers. More than 260 centers for teaching and
memorizing the Holy Quran have been opened across various wilayats of the
governorate, aiming to strengthen religious values and develop students’ skills
during the summer vacation.
Educational and
Social Objectives
Dr. Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al-Siyabi,
Director of the Department of Endowments and Religious Affairs in the
governorate, affirmed that these centers represent an important support in
building the character of the youth. He indicated that their goals include:
Refining students’
skills.
Investing leisure time in beneficial
activities.
*Attracting various age groups.
*Deepening religious commitment
and instilling Islamic values.
*Scientific Supervision and Wide
Participation
*A distinguished group of imams
from mosques and congregational mosques teach in these centers, ensuring
quality education and methodological rigor.
Hamid bin Ali Al-Maamari, Head of the
Islamic Affairs Section, pointed out that 102 centers operate within mosques
and congregational mosques, with more than 4,150 students of different ages
participating.
Notable Female
Attendance
In line with attention to the women’s
sector, Zahra bint Hamoud Al-Kharousiya, Head of the Women’s Education and
Guidance Center, stated that 165 centers under her supervision attract more
than 6,877 female and male students, participating in various educational and
religious programs.
Comprehensive and
Diverse Programs
The summer centers offer a diverse array of
educational and developmental programs, including:
*Teaching and memorizing the Holy
Quran.
*Lessons in jurisprudence,
Hadith, and the Prophetic biography.
*Courses in etiquette and glass
painting.
*Exciting recreational activities
to engage and motivate students.
Promoting Values
and Community Development
This initiative represents a living example
of the efforts made by religious and educational institutions in the Sultanate
of Oman, aiming to instill values and knowledge using contemporary methods that
combine education, entertainment, and awareness-raising, contributing to
building a conscious generation firmly rooted in its Islamic identity.
