Youth
Committee of the Union Launches the “Young Women’s Section” in Introductory
Ceremony Highlighting Women’s Role in the Nation’s Renaissance
The Youth Committee
of the International Union of Muslim Scholars held an introductory and
welcoming ceremony on Saturday, December 13, to mark the launch of the “Young
Women’s Section.” The event took place in a spiritual and interactive
atmosphere reflecting the mission and the promising beginning of the new
section.
The ceremony opened
with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by a welcoming anthem
expressing the meanings of initiation and responsibility. Assistant
Secretary-General of the Union, Dr. Wanees Al-Mabrouk, then delivered a
welcoming address, conveying the Union’s greetings and emphasizing the
anticipated role of young women in serving the mission of knowledge and
contributing effectively to building societal awareness.
This was followed by
an introductory presentation on the identity, vision, and objectives of the
Youth Committee, delivered by Ms. Naqaa, who highlighted the importance of
young women’s role in carrying the message of knowledge, serving the Ummah, and
promoting the concept of Islam as a message of mercy to all humanity.
The event also
featured the screening of a documentary titled “The Union’s Journey: Knowledge
that Uplifts the Ummah,” which reviewed the path of the International Union of
Muslim Scholars and key milestones of its scholarly and advocacy achievements
in service of the Ummah’s causes.
The program included
an interactive session titled “Me and the Message,” which discussed the role of
young women in awareness and community building through the presentation of
inspiring models from the Mothers of the Believers. The session was delivered
by a group of young women in an engaging, dialogue-based format.
In an inspirational
segment, media professional Safaa Abu Al-Sukkar shared her personal experience
and success story, shedding light on the importance of initiative and creating
impact, while motivating participants to play an active role within their communities.
Activities continued
with an interactive segment titled “My Imprint on the Path of the Message,”
during which young women expressed their aspirations and future visions. The
segment was presented by Dr. Iman Sufyan, followed by the opening of membership
for the Young Women’s Committee, offering broader opportunities to participate
in upcoming activities and programs.
The ceremony
concluded with honoring the participants, distributing gifts, and taking a
group photo under the slogan “Together on the Path of the Scholars,” in a scene
that embodied a spirit of belonging and shared responsibility.
This event comes as
part of the Youth Committee’s affirmation that the launch of the Young Women’s
Section represents the beginning of a genuine and influential role for young
women in the journey of the Ummah’s renaissance, and a step toward strengthening
their presence in the fields of knowledge, da‘wah, and community work.
