IUMS Extends Condolences to the Amir of Qatar and the Turkish President over the Martyrs of Duty from the Joint Qatari-Turkish Forces

 

Doha: March 23, 2026

The International Union of Muslim Scholars extended its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, over the victims of the helicopter crash belonging to the Qatari Armed Forces in the country’s territorial waters, which resulted in the martyrdom of a number of personnel from the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, in addition to Turkish civilian collaborators.

In an official statement issued by its President, His Eminence Prof. Dr. Ali Mohiuddin Al-Qaradaghi—on his own behalf and on behalf of the Vice Presidents, the Board of Trustees, the General Secretariat, and all members of the Union worldwide—the Union affirmed that this tragic incident has caused deep sorrow and grief, recalling with great appreciation the sacrifices of the martyrs who lost their lives while performing their national duty within the framework of the strong fraternal cooperation between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Türkiye.

The Union expressed its full solidarity with the leaderships and peoples of the two brotherly countries in this grave tragedy, praising the depth of the fraternal relations between Qatar and Türkiye, as reflected in their ongoing cooperation and coordination across various fields.

The Union also prayed to Almighty God to bestow His vast mercy upon the martyrs, grant them a place in His spacious Paradise, inspire their families with patience and solace, and preserve both brotherly nations with lasting security and stability.

The statement concluded by renewing its sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy, affirming its support for the State of Qatar and the Republic of Türkiye during this difficult time.
