International Union of Muslim Scholars: "Issues
a Call of Duty to Support Gaza and to Continue Participation in the Convoys to
Break the Siege" (Statement)
Doha: 14 Dhul-Hijjah 1446 AH
Corresponding to 10 June 2025 CE
The duty of the time is to declare and call for comprehensive support and
participation in the convoys heading to Gaza, in support of Gaza and the
detainees on board the Maddeline ship, and to emphasize the necessity of
continuing these convoys until the siege is lifted.
In light of the ongoing genocide and the unjust
blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip, and the complicity of most political
regimes with the usurping entity, the convoys of freedom and the ships of
dignity emerge from the depths of the human conscience to declare their
rejection of this siege and the starvation of the people of Gaza. They carry
within them the spirit of pride and sacrifice and convey the message of free
nations to our people in Gaza: You are not alone.
In response to the heinous Zionist piracy against the Maddeline
ship and the arrest of its honorable and supportive passengers, we hereby:
- Reaffirm our full and continuous support for all convoys and ships
aiming to break the siege imposed on Gaza, considering it a humanitarian,
legal, and moral obligation.
- Call upon scholars, preachers, intellectuals, opinion leaders, and
scientific and advocacy institutions to actively participate in these
convoys — whether through presence, words, stances, or financial support —
in support of truth and in fulfillment of the duty of the time.
- Demand the immediate release of the detainees on board the Maddeline
ship, considering their detention a criminal act in violation of all
international and humanitarian norms.
In conclusion, the convoys breaking the siege are an honor
for all who join or support them, and they are a test of the conscience of
the Ummah. We are confident that our living Ummah will not abandon Gaza, nor
leave its people alone in the face of oppression and tyranny.
