Besieged Gaza: A Documented Genocide through Starvation and Systematic Killing Amid a Humanitarian Tragedy, Suspicious International Silence, and Disgraceful Complicity (Statement)

Besieged Gaza is enduring a documented genocide, characterized by systematic crimes whose primary tools are lethal starvation, suffocating blockade, widespread destruction, and the deprivation of its people from clean water, food, medicine, and shelter.

This is not a war, but a deliberate policy of killing — where hunger is turned into a weapon, thirst into a slow death, and aid into empty, undelivered promises.

Children are dying simply because they were born in Gaza, not because they carried weapons. Mothers are buried in silence — not out of weakness, but because screaming cannot fill stomachs or save lives.

All of this is unfolding before the eyes of a world that has abandoned justice and normalized crime through its silence and inaction.

Allah the Almighty says:

﴿وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍ مِّنَ الْخَوفِ وَالجُوعِ وَنَقصٍ مِّنَ الأَموالِ وَالأَنفُسِ وَالثَّمَراتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ الصّابِرِينَ﴾ (البقرة: 155)

In light of this catastrophe, the International Union of Muslim Scholars addresses the following messages:

First: To our people in Gaza

We address you with pride and admiration — O people of steadfastness and resilience, protectors of Al-Aqsa and shield of the Ummah. Be patient, persevere, and remain steadfast. You are on the path of truth, and Allah is with you and will never waste your deeds. Your pure blood will remain a curse upon the occupation and a fire that awakens the conscience of the heedless and the negligent.

Second: To the leaders of the Islamic world

Whoever supports the enemy with weapons, money, or media is complicit in its crimes and stands as a criminal before religion and history. And whoever remains silent while capable has betrayed Allah and His Messenger , and let down the Ummah and future generations. There is no excuse for those who know yet remain silent, and no salvation for those who witnessed the massacre and heard the cries of the hungry, then turned their backs.

History will not forgive, and the blood of Gaza will remain a witness to the betrayal of the betrayers. The punishment of Allah is inevitable.

Third: To the free people and leaders of the world

What is happening in Gaza is not a local issue, but a test of the world's humanity.

The time has come for action that goes beyond sympathy — toward the immediate cessation of aggression.

Enough is enough! Isn’t it time for the conscience of the world to awaken?

We call for relief, support, and political and media pressure to break the siege and expose the shameful international silence.

Fourth: To scholars, preachers, speakers, and media figures

Your silence during a time of massacres is betrayal, and your delayed stance is a breach of trust.

A sincere word from a pulpit, a courageous stand in the media, or an honest post on social platforms can awaken a conscience and break the wall of siege.

Do not forsake Gaza. Proclaim the truth. You are accountable before Allah — and before the Ummah and history.

Fifth: To human rights organizations and international courts

We call for urgent action to prosecute the occupation for its crimes against humanity — especially the deliberate starvation, one of the most heinous crimes prohibited by divine laws and violated by false human principles.

We hold the United Nations responsible for its failure to protect civilians and call upon it to fulfill its moral and humanitarian responsibilities.

In Conclusion

The Zionist occupation is committing genocide through starvation, siege, and total destruction — and the world becomes complicit in this crime if it does not act immediately to stop it.

We call on international institutions and all living consciences to act urgently to save the remaining lives and dignity in Gaza. This is the duty of Muslims before anyone else.

The Messenger of Allah said:

قال رسول الله ﷺ: "مَثَلُ المؤمنين في توادّهم وتراحمهم وتعاطفهم كمثل الجسد، إذا اشتكى منه عضو تداعى له سائر الجسد بالسهر والحمى" (رواه مسلم)

﴿وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ﴾
