International Union of Muslim
Scholars Launches Hijrah Week 1447 AH under the Motto: "Gaza Renews the
Call on the Anniversary of Hijrah and Ashura"
As the sacred month of Muharram begins and
the new Hijri year 1447 AH dawns, the International Union of Muslim Scholars
announces the launch of Hijrah Week, under a unifying theme that links the
Hijrah and Ashura, connecting a glorious past with a wounded present:
“On the Anniversary of Hijrah and
Ashura... Gaza Renews the Call.”
This is a momentous occasion in which we
commemorate two great events in the history of our Ummah:
The Prophet’s ﷺ Hijrah, which marked a pivotal turning point in
the path of the Islamic message, and the Day of Ashura, which witnessed the
deliverance of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his people from the
tyranny of oppressors.
Through this remembrance, we draw
inspiration from the values of steadfastness, patience, sacrifice, and triumph
over injustice—values that revive the hearts of the Ummah and awaken its
consciousness in the face of contemporary challenges, foremost among them the
siege, aggression, and occupation endured by steadfast Gaza.
🔹 Hijrah
Week is a call to revive the core values upon which the Hijrah was founded:
Faith in the divine message
Support for the oppressed
Nation-building
Striving for freedom and dignity
🔹 The week
will feature a rich program of scholarly, religious, and media activities, open
to participation from scholars, preachers, thinkers, institutions, and Islamic
organizations around the world. Together, they will reflect on the lessons of
Hijrah and Ashura, relate them to the current state of the Ummah—particularly
in Gaza and Palestine—and across the Muslim world.
🔸 Let us
renew our covenant with Allah...
🔸 Let us
revive the spirit of Hijrah within ourselves and our Ummah...
🔸 Let Gaza
be the symbol of our steadfastness, just as Madinah once was a beacon of
victory and liberation.

platforms.
