Mass Protests in
Arab Capitals Denounce Starvation and Genocide in Gaza, Demand End to Siege
Several Arab capitals and
cities witnessed massive demonstrations and protest rallies on Sunday,
condemning the genocide and starvation war imposed by the Zionist occupation on
the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, and protesting the international silence
toward the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Rabat: Tens of
Thousands March Against Starvation
In the Moroccan capital,
Rabat, tens of thousands participated in a march that started from the historic
Bab al-Had gate toward the Parliament building. Protesters carried Palestinian
flags and banners denouncing the siege and starvation, responding to a call
from a global movement opposing Israeli-imposed famine.
Demonstrators chanted slogans
such as “Stop the genocide in Gaza” and “Palestine is devastated and the world
is a puppet,” criticizing the failure of international institutions to halt the
ongoing atrocities.
Nouakchott: In
Front of the U.S. Embassy
In Nouakchott, Mauritanians
gathered in front of the U.S. Embassy to protest the starvation war and
American support for the occupation.
Protesters called for the
closure of the U.S. Embassy and raised slogans condemning the massacres and
violations against Gaza’s residents. The protest saw wide participation from
political parties, trade unions, and civil society organizations.
Ramallah:
Solidarity from Within Palestine
In Ramallah, hundreds of
Palestinians demonstrated against the genocide and starvation targeting their
people in Gaza.
Dr. Mustafa Barghouti,
Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, stated that 70,000
children are at risk of dying from hunger and called on Arab nations to act to
break the siege.
Tunis: “Do Not
Leave Gaza Alone”
In the Tunisian capital, a
popular march was held under the slogan “Do Not Leave Gaza Alone,” organized by
the "Joint Action Coordination for Palestine" in response to a call
from the resistance.
The march swept through the
streets of the capital, with participants chanting slogans condemning the
aggression and siege and affirming full solidarity with Gaza.
Hamas Call and
Alarming Toll
The Hamas movement had issued
a global call for demonstrations on Sunday against genocide and starvation,
urging a worldwide “cry of rage” to save the Palestinian people from death by
bombardment and famine.
On the same day, the Ministry
of Health in Gaza reported the martyrdom of more than 900 Palestinians –
including 71 children – due to hunger and malnutrition, and around 6,000 others
were injured while searching for food. The Zionist occupation has continued to
seal all border crossings since March 2, 2025, preventing the entry of
humanitarian aid.
Backed by the United States,
the occupation forces continue their all-out war on Gaza, leaving more than
200,000 dead and wounded – most of them children and women – and around 9,000
missing, amid an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.
