
Scholarly Delegation Led by Dr. Essam Al-Bashir Visits Istanbul
Mufti to Strengthen Relations and Discuss Key Issues Facing the Ummah
His
Eminence Sheikh Dr. Essam Al-Bashir, Vice President of the International Union
of Muslim Scholars, accompanied by a distinguished group of Arab scholars
residing in Turkey—including Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Tariri and Sheikh Khaled
Al-Ghathari—paid a visit to the Mufti of Istanbul as part of ongoing efforts to
solidify scientific and religious ties between scholars and Turkish
institutions.
The
visit aimed to deepen bonds of brotherhood and enhance cooperation with
official and civil religious institutions in Turkey. During the meeting, Dr.
Al-Bashir presented His Eminence the Mufti with his authored work “Minbariyah
Lights” as well as the terminology encyclopedia prepared by the International
Union of Muslim Scholars in collaboration with the Center for Islamic Thought
and Contemporary Studies.
The
meeting featured in-depth discussions on the most pressing issues facing the
Muslim Ummah today, with both sides affirming their shared commitment to
serving the religious and scholarly interests of the Islamic community.
This
initiative is part of the scholars’ broader efforts to foster scientific and
cultural communication and collaboration among religious institutions across
countries, aiming to serve the Ummah’s causes and strengthen its bonds.
