Al-Qaradaghi Leads Istanbul Course on “Qur’anic Deduction and
Jurisprudence of Balance” with Scholars from 15 Countries
The
specialized scholarly course organized by the International Union of Muslim
Scholars continues in Istanbul, Turkey, under the guidance of His Eminence
Sheikh Dr. Ali Mohieddin Al-Qaradaghi, President of the Union. The course is
titled: "The Qur’anic Deductive Method According to the Jurisprudence of
Balance", and is being held at the Muslim Scholars Waqf Center from Monday
to Wednesday, August 4–6.
The
course witnessed a distinguished turnout, with more than 85 scholars and
researchers from 15 different countries around the world in
attendance—reflecting the growing interest in issues of jurisprudential and
methodological renewal from a balanced Qur’anic perspective.
Dr.
Al-Qaradaghi excelled in laying the foundations of the Qur’anic deductive
approach in light of the jurisprudence of balance. With scholarly rigor, he
articulated the lofty aims of this methodology and its role in unifying the
broader visions of the Muslim Ummah and advancing its intellectual and
civilizational revival—through conscious engagement with reality while
remaining committed to Islamic principles.
The
course addressed key issues related to disciplined renewal in the fundamentals
of jurisprudence and the intellectual challenges facing the Ummah. Sheikh
Al-Qaradaghi offered a balanced academic treatment, successfully unpacking
complex problems and formulating clear, practical conceptualizations for
solutions that are applicable in the arenas of Islamic thought and action.
His
lectures received wide acclaim from participants, owing to their depth, precise
methodology, and relevance—despite the high level of scholarly expertise among
those attending.
