Graduation of the “7 October” Cohort of Quran Memorizers in Nouakchott

 

The Ihsan Center for Teaching the Noble Quran and Islamic Sciences in the Mauritanian capital, Nouakchott, organized a distinguished ceremony to honor the graduation of a new cohort of Quran memorizers named “7 October,” in reference to the start of the Al-Aqsa Flood battle, recognizing their persistent efforts and excellence in memorizing the Holy Quran.

The ceremony featured the distribution of honorary certificates to the graduates, as an encouraging step to motivate them to continue pursuing Islamic knowledge and to elevate their religious and Quranic levels.

In his speech on the occasion, the Center’s Director, Mr. Ahmedou Mohamed Ghulam Al-Dhahhah, emphasized Mauritania’s esteemed position in preserving and disseminating Quranic sciences, describing the memorizers of the Quran as “God’s chosen and special people,” and highlighting the significance of this great achievement within the national religious landscape.

The Director expressed the pride shared by all staff and parents in this moment that crowns the students’ efforts with the completion of memorizing the Book of God.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Toujounine Municipality, Mr. Ahmed Salem Ould Al-Fallali, praised the active role played by the Center in teaching the younger generation and training them in Islamic sciences, confirming the municipality’s continuous support for such blessed initiatives, and urging parents to keep supporting their children in the Quranic journey.

The graduates’ spokesperson, Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdulrahman, conveyed his colleagues’ gratitude to the teachers who accompanied them in learning and nurturing them on the Book of God, expressing their great pride in what they have achieved in memorization and mastery.

The ceremony was attended by a number of scholars, imams, deputies, and senior figures interested in educational and religious affairs, in a presence that reflects the deep connection of Mauritanian society with Quranic sciences.

It is worth mentioning that Mauritania is distinguished by a rich heritage in the Quranic sciences, including memorization, verification, script, and Tajweed, making this ceremony a prominent national and religious occasion.
